Description:
The design of this facility consist of a three
story addition and gut rehabilitation / alteration
to the existing Odd Fellows Housing Complex located
in Ewing, New Jersey. The existing basement floor
was lowered to provide a new entrance connection
at grade level between the existing and new buildings.
The final design took many cues from the existing
structure such as colors, materials, architectural
language and reinterpreted them into an elegant
solution to the program. The addition provides
a pronounced entry axis which reaches out to provide
shelter, bisecting the two massive housing structures.
